All ready for primer and some preshading! All the little stuff is done and Billy Sparks is under glass  

did this for tarps on the motor launches for a battleship. It’s a napkin soaked in white glue and then let to dry, then painted NATO black and then left to dry again. It crinkles up really nice. Looking at pictures, and this horrible blank space that trumpeter gives around the HUD it seem to be the perfect application.


here is the only extra I have for this field. I happen to have two of The GT resin piece so decided even with canopy closed i would use it. Unfortunately it didn’t fit the profile and has a 2mm spacer to get the right angle and black CA to fill the gaps. A lot of work but the detail is good and it can be seen so I’m happy with that.

Good idea. I used a piece of styrene instead but applied the thought!

fabulous work so far - I do like that mod to the front of the cockpit.

Very cool. I have another of these to build so I'll use them for sure. Clear enough for me to add details, I can still see thru the reflections. The pics aren't showing up but I was able to copy the link out of the txxt above and go direct to them. Great add!

This build is looking GREAT so far bud. The pilot alone is a work of art!!!

I found 1 spot on the aft of the dorsal spine that will need some CA. I think the rod i used to fill the spine got soft there from the cement or something. It’s goofy. 

took a bit to get here - found 2 lines of rivets I missed adding, did another round of filling post the 1st coat of primer, and I wasn’t too happy with all the gaps around the cockpit so I did some more there and then sanded it and hit if with mr surfacer 1500. Trumpeter did not design this one to be closed for sure. Also glad i let the primer sit for 2 days, that life thing happened lol, because a ghost seam showed up across the spine for the 1st time. Fixed that :-)

It's really coming along nicely!

I wonder if some fillers have a chemical reaction with primer, and shrink once the primer soaks in and cures.

Looking real good with all the rework and replacement of lost or missing detailing.
