Well it's coming together, although I foresee a lot of filling and sanding in my future.

(the Wings and tailplane are just fitted for the photo).



I had an issue with the rear door. It was a pig to fit and this was the best I could do, but if I ever make another of these I'll know what to do instead.

Getting there. Looking good to this point.

I don't remember having an issue there. It's been a while since I built it though.

I think that there are a couple of inserts the instructions have you fit around where the lower door hydraulics go through the fuselage that you don't need when you fit the doors closed, as it makes them sit proud - but they don't mention it! To be honest though, this kit isn't s great moulding, it has been a total flash mess, I suspect the moulds are wearing a bit. Yours might have been a lot better.

Yeah maybe. I think mine wasn't that great either. I'll have go back and see if I can find the build log for it.

Well the wings and tailplane are on. I had some fit issues with the tailplane halves which required me to carve out a overhang front and back, but they look okay now. The only real bummer is the nose-weight I added wasn't quite enough, so I'm going to have to pack out the engines.



Time for some fettling and filling

I've also ordered a resin engine correction set for this. I don't know if you're aware, but if you ever build one, Italeri screwed up the length of the engines, they're too short and too staggard. The replacement set corrects the length but it does mean I have to remove 2.25mm from the inner engine mounts.

Onwards and upwards!
