Very good start on the tracks Tom. Suggestion… paint the idler wheel contact surface shiny steel, as well as the outer edges that would contact the edge connector teeth.
I've been researching the idler wheels you've suggested online. I don't find photo proofs of any with steel contact surfaces - even on early versions. I trust your expertise but maybe I'm not looking hard enough?

All of them and the rear large wheels? (Aside from the return wheels)
No, the road wheels have rubber tires on the rim. Although the edging of those could be worn bare by the end connector guide teeth. I’ll have to check some photos.

Good to see that scheme working out well Tom. I have a couple of builds to do in it as well so I'm finding it quite inspirational. How're you finding the paints? I think I have the same set as you.

I love the new AK Interactive Real Color bottle paint. I've noticed they're a lot more durable. I still prefer the old AK Interactive Real Color glass bottles. Both are pretty durable paints. The downside with the new dropper bottles, I'll have to pull the dropper off to see how much paint I have left.
Other than that, great paint.
