I've been wondering what was missing from the cockpit on this kit and it's finally dawned on me - it's missing the armour plating from behind the pilot seat. It's nothing I've done, I'm just following instructions - so this is obviously a really early aircraft before they were retro-fitted

I'll have a look in the unused kit parts in the kit and see if it's in there - might be nice if it was so you can build aircraft with it fitted.

Cheers!

Tally ho! I've also had a butchers at my Kotare kit instructions and they show both armor plate and headrest

Ok, except for the door interior, that's definitely not what appears to be British interior green? :hmm:

I already said it, but I'll say it again. I love that cockpit Stuart. Looks great with the pilot sitting in it!

Indeed, Chris. I actually believe that the early seats were painted grey, for some reason.

Actually you’re close; it’s actually called RAF Grey Green but they didn’t use it until 1940 on. It’s a color I use on my WW2 British aircraft interiors. AK Interactive has RAF Grey Green paint. Prior to 1940, they were yellowish beige green or “apple green”.
