I take the same painting precautions I am sure all of us do. Having strayed away from Tamiya Acrylic Lacquers to Gunze Lacquers with a brief stop to brush on some Humbrol Enamels, I really like the MM color properties a lot, however I plan to brush the leather seat with Humbrol Enamels because they brush on really well and I have a few brown shades to use.

I heard from Henri. Very informative. The A-5 is propeller is not the same. He has an A-1, but I am not sure it is kitted or for sale, so I asked him to clarify. Meanwhile I am gonna see how to fix the propeller blades I have which Henry suggests are too wide.

I agree with you on the Humbrol paints being easy to apply. I've got one Humbrol color in my collection and it does get used from time to time. I've had it now for 7 years and it's still as good as when I bought it new. Nice acquisition on that prop spinner and fan Bruce.

Those placards are really going to pop in that cockpit!

Thank you, Joe and thank you, Clint for looking in tonight. Gents I just screwed up and canceled my evening plans to repair the situation. I painted the cockpit and the rear deck and the enamel was curing and de-gassing happily on my balcony when I realized that the placards was gonna require me to remove raised sections of the cockpit controls on both sides. I was literally thinking "F-bomb I’m moving on," and leave it be, but in a modeler variation of stages of grief (or GREIF I remember that 1/35 Dragon kit well), I went for a walk and I walked and walked and then about an hour later I felt empowered to go and redo things, because it was not the end of the world or slightly smaller yet no less significant it was not my world ending. I made a mistake. I jumped the gun. I forced myself to take a photo of this version two cockpit—in itself this was a major step forward to acknowledge the mistake itself.

I am not gonna headslap emoji because I wanna move past this with some grace. So after soaking the tub in vinegar I stripped the paint, removed the raised sections and I am gonna repaint upon the morrow.

Bruce, that’s exactly it, take a step back and get some perspective. Assess the problem, then get back into the game.

I really need to look into investing in Humbrol paints since MM are discontinuing some of their military line. Too bad they couldn’t put it in a bit larger tins. Such a small size tin almost makes me think it’s not enough to go around. When I bought track color by Humbrol, I bought 2 thinking it won’t be enough for several painting sessions.

Those Humbrol enamel tins will paint more than you imagine Tom. Especially when airbrushed. But yes, their color selection line is great, and actually expanding. They recently brought back some discontinued colors as well as introducing new Luftwaffe colors, along with a few other new shades. And if you have a chance, check out their acrylics. For handbrushing, they are the best that I’ve come across in a LONG time.
