Cowling / engine issue perfectly solved. Colors are right too. Bring this tiny beauty across brick-yard.

Marius, thanks so much for your encouragement. Sincerely. If I had to make a list of what is needed to bring the model across the yard and into the house ie completed it would be:

1. Engine: (a) wiring (b) painting (c) assembly

2. Seat: adding hidden micro-magnets (located underneath to attach figure)

3. Cockpit: (a) instrument panel assembly (b) fuselage assembly (interior only)

4. Fuselage: (a) assembly with glue (b) seam fills (c) additional priming and painting

5. Wings: (a) assembly with glue (b) yellow color coat

6. Tests: black color coat with red trim

7. Fuselage and wings: black color coat with red trim

8. Landing gear: (a) yellow color coat (b) black color coat with red trim

9. Sand, buff and polish all surfaces

10. Add decals

11. Pilot: add magnets to feet, paint

12. Photographer: paint figure

Bravo on fitting the engine into the cowling Bruce!
Now go find some appropriate sized metal wire and rod to create your ignition wiring and harness ring. You have this.

looking good Bruce!

I stepped back for a moment to rethink the fuselage which I painted as a test. Now I know a few of you pointed out the fallacy of pre-painting and quite rightly. I agree. I started looking for another cheap kit on eBay and hopefully I found one. Fingers crossed. I started bidding last night. This allows me to use the current kit as practice and transfer what works to the other.

With tomorrow being Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S., I will be spending the day largely to myself. I am not sure if I will do any model building. I think rather I will read a book and stay off the grid. Count my blessings.

Thanks, Stuart! Send me a list! Are you watching old B-movies (under 80 minutes, usually 50 minutes) or simply crappy movies? Both have their place.

lol - probably just crappy movies - mainly old daft 1980's sci-fi movies free to view on prime (and youtube). I've had them on whilst I'm working from hone. Stuff like Zone Troopers, Space Raiders, Moon 44 etc. I've also been re-watching all the 'Monarch' movies from the last 20 years - Godzilla, King Kong etc. and the 90's version of Godzilla with Jean Reno. If you want good sci-fi I can recommend 'The Expanse'. I've started rewatching it as the new series is out next month.

I do like old B Movies though - I watched 'Day of the Triffids' the other day for the first time in ages.

Bruce, I have to say that engine inside the cowling is spectacular! What a great fit! I'm certain your efforts to wire it will be at least as successful, if not more. When you get the other kit, I highly recommend using that original cowl for the new one as it looks so incredibly magnificent already!
