Doesn't the Dr.I have a rotary engine? One that rotates with the propeller?

Yes. Both the Camel and the Dr.I have rotary engines. John’s SE.5A has an inline engine.

Just in case anyone is curious. I also have a Jasta 14 side project going where I take two ancient Airfix motorcar kits, the 1904 Mercedes and the Rolls Royce, and mash them together to recreate a Stoewer C1 or C2 built in 1913-1915, then add a tow bar to a 1/32 Fokker fuselage and wheels. This, in short:

Side work. Research. First kit as there will be two of them used to make one touring car.

I forgot I had this link in Favorites on my computer. Worth a look on how to replicate fabric on WW1 aircraft wings...

I've always loved the pleasant curves of the Albatross!

Undersides:

Gunze RLM 65 Light Blue 115 and Light Blue 323

A dot of the camouflage lifted away again; same section. I must have some oil that I did not clean away properly at the very start. Repairs are underway:

I don’t know which kit I’m more excited about... the Fokker, or the Benz... I’m not much for modern cars, but a car of that era... oh yeah!

You’lol be fine on the tiny flaws.

I am excited as well! Thanks, Carlos. I have not received the Rolls Royce kit yet. The seller moved his shop and is having inventory issues. I hope to be able to start work next week on the car.

Above are examples of a restoration with turquoise blues (I mix and match to this one restoration in particular) and here is an actual photo which will be useful for weathering:

My plan is to add the chin pan with a prepainted piece of plastic card (Peter Piper picked a pack of pickled peppers!)

The paint looks great, Bruce! Here' what the 1/32 Meng kit looks like on the bottom for reference courtesy of LSP...

The finish on the wall behind the engine looks really rough... was that intentional?
