. Looks like you have a little bit of a warble pattern going on with the top of that port wing. This has been something that I have been incorporating into my own aircraft builds as of the last few "birdy" builds of mine. Seems to deepen the paint weathering effect and it truly pays off when the final colors are all on. Great progress friend.
Many thanks Joe!
And yes I remember very well your 262 build, especially the paintwork of the bottom part, which really really looked tasty as well !

Main camo/coloring process starts to be 90% done.
Still some blue-grey that needs to be added "here and there", but otherwise pretty much done.
And I'm pretty satisfied with the paint job. Especially Mr Color mixed with Mr Color Leveling Thinner (fifty-fifty) works like a charm! Sprays so wonderfully without any problems what-so-ever!
Of course, my Badger Krome performs also w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l-l-y.
The paints from MRP have been so far my absolute favourite stuff, but Mr Color is not only knocking on the door, but it has entered my hobby room as nr 1 paint!

Always exciting to see how well the masking has worked

To try to "mimic" the nuances of the paintwork in a picture, in other words what the eye sees in reality, I have "photoshopped" a little bit the following picture of the wing.
I'm pretty satisfied with the paintwork.
Let's see what next and when the decaling work can start...

Looks great! I'm a big fan of the Mr Color line. I thin 50:50 as well and it's performed really well.

Finally decaling work could start!
Did pretty much "bits&pieces" work as well, navigation lights, guns, antennas and of course some touchup painting etc etc.
Ahead still the pretty complicated landing gear construction and only then the engine, exhaust pipes, cowling and a few other parts can be added.

And the bits & pieces still waiting for their turn..
Let's see what next!

superb progress Kari, how did you find those new-fangled eduard decals?

Thanks Stuart!
The first build I did with Eduards new decals was the Zero and I was very satisfied and happy of them. But these decals that came with the Wildcat, feels something is slightly different..
So to be on the safe side, I took my paint-mule as testbed... And the result worries me slightly..
So at this moment, I will not even try to remove the extra carrier film, before I feel confident I can do it without pulling out the entire decal..
