Clint—Thank you for your comment. I am just getting started! I have the next level of PE to add from the kit itself which consists of flight controls—including the throttle, then I am going to wait until Monday and the paint has cured to begin detail painting. I believe the circular projection on the bulkhead is an O2 bottle, but I am not sure. Do you know?



On Monday the seat cushion will be painted. I am extremely happy with the new surface even if it will be covered by lap belts. It looks like the knurled knobs were brown? So tonight will be another round of Eduard etch. PCM’s added details are going to add even more interest to the cockpit itself.

Those placards look great in there, and I like the finish you’ve achieved as well. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the seat. I can’t speak to whether that cylindrical protrusion is aim O2 bottle or not, sorry about that; but this is solid work and I’d say she’s coming along beautifully!

No that item on the right rear is not the oxygen bottle. I pulled out my FW-190 walkaround book yesterday to look up the oxygen bottles after the blue comment. They are located in the tail ahead of the tail wheel well and are actually three spheres on a single tube. The oxygen regulator is located on the cockpit rear wall on the pilot’s left side. I am not sure what that cylinder is on the right.

After some digging I found out what that is. Its the oxygen emergency knob painted the same color as the cockpit with the tip being a bare metal, or just wore paint.
"When increased breathing resistance during oxygen breathing is encountered, press the oxygen emergency knob several times with the right elbow for short durations."

Carlos—Likewise, Thanks so much for finding out where the O2 was located. I think the Fw 199 O2 bottles were pretty much always blue—maybe all Luftwaffe a/c types carrying oxygen had tanks painted blue with white stripes.

Yes, I think that blue is the standard color for Luftwaffe oxygen bottles. Doing some image searching yesterday, that was what I kept seeing.
