Yes sir! I enjoy the whole process, even when stuff doesn’t work out how I wanted it to. I’m happy to be learning and trying stuff out. I also do kind of enjoy the freedom of non-attachment. Like, I like this kit and this project, but I wasn’t so tied-up in outcomes that I was scared to take risks. Wiring harness? At first I was against it, but then, BOOM! Oh dear Lord YES! You gotta have a wiring harness! Multi-layer paint chips? I don’t know? Oh fuck it, yeah why not! It wasn’t in vain. No way.

Yep! It’s the learning. I love the learning most of all. Although it is kind of sad- I don’t spend any time at all looking at my last completed model, except for maybe a spare minute here or there at the end of the odd day, just to dust it off. I loved building that Emil. And I’m glad I completed it. My baby boy’s Warhawk, too. But I love being on the bleeding edge. The learning. The process. That’s where I find my internal Locus Of Control, meet it head-on, and roll with it.

My sister who I’ve not seen in three years is coming to visit tomorrow with her husband! I’m making them dinner. I made this shrimp Etouffee to serve with biscuits and filet mignon for dinner tomorrow. It’s always better when Etouffee sits in the fridge overnight and is served the next day. I love cooking Cajun food!

Here we are! Various cockpit parts for the Mk.II Corsair project.

I will not be doing chipping with the colored pencil. Instead, I will be doing “real” chipping. I have AK chipping fluid on-hand, and as you can see here, I have the silver laid-down on the seat and rear bulkhead.

As for painting, the toward bulkhead and IP is painted and sealed in Super Clear Gloss. That’ll get a wash and the IP decal tomorrow. I painted small in there, if that makes sense. Focused between the vertical bars. Got some nice shadow accentuation that way.

I like this cockpit a lot so far. Doing way better on it than I did on the first one.
