Or the pilot needs to go on a diet so he could fit his fat ass in the seat. LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!speedgraflex wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 8:07 pm Thanks, Stuart and Tom!
Calamari was served al fresco last night on a crazywide backyard set of black plastic and cloth that ran about 60 feet by 20 feet. Fingers crossed that the footage looks good. From what I can tell, it does.
I took pilot figure measurements (ideal measurements) for Marius:
X is 12.7 mm
Y is 12.7 mm
Z is 38.0 mm
Maybe the pilot seat needs to be a bit bigger?

Looking forward to seeing what Marius comes up with Bruce.

Wow, I miss so much when stuff keeps me from checking things out here! Nice solution on the pilot, it looks to be the perfect option to man this plane! Looking forward to seeing more, even though all that math and diagrams sure made my head hurt!

Re: Revell H-291 by speedgraflex
Well I am currently checking the target dimensions. x, y = 12.7 mm does not match the 28 mm in z-dirrction.
I would suggest to set the x and y to 17.5 mm, means 25.47 in z.
I am adding the head in the same customised scale to check against the predicted 38 mm from head to butt. 28/25.47 is shoulder to burt.

New dims from Marius which look like the scale is closer now to fit inside 6-1/2 feet of cockpit space. Those pilots were crushed into those boxes, for sure.

Re: Revell H-291 by speedgraflex
Marius sent exact X-Y-Z measurements so I was able to build a scale torso. He needs to be much smaller. The problem with the scale being off exists because I am trying to adapt a human figure to fit into an imprecise cockpit design; the figure is literally sitting on the cockpit floor. No chair.
Reference—much smaller. He is enclosed by the cockpit walls over his shoulders offering maximum protection.

Yeah I think that's going to be too big judging by the real aircraft photo you shared Bruce.

Thank you, Stuart!
I agree. Marius is trying smaller measurements. I'm trying to stay focused—deadlines approaching!
