Interesting - control column is offset

All of that stuff is eye crossing to me even in 32. I would go off the deep end if I tried that in 72.

Having off set controls isn't that uncommon - I've seen it on a few older light aircraft.

I have to say you're going great guns on this one Bruce. I started gluing my F together today and it will be pretty much OOB I think. All I'm going to do to the interior is add a few extra SB bits because I'm lazy

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.

Paul, Thank you for your thoughts. I truly appreciate working in 1/32 with aircraft, but I do have to recognize I have space limitations. I was thinking about the sequence in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” where Roy builds a model of Devil’s Mountain in his living room. My living room is my dining room is my office all in one. I even have to modify kit intake, which is like dieting to me. This is not a woe is me speech. I am sure if I had a bigger space I would still complain. That’s just me, I guess. The other part about 1/72... the cool part? You can go places with it. I would suggest that there are masters at work in 1/72. A few of them are here! There are also guys building 1/144 which is a place I want to go someday soon. Am I nuts? Yes!

Stuart, Thank you for correcting me about offset control columns. I was mainly thinking about how aircraft design of the Dornier Do 17 Series is so open and freeing for the pilot and crew... or how it is also pretty darn scary! Post up your sprues or just let us know when you’re knocking your kit together! You are the brush master.

Ken, Thank you, brother. This was a bit of a leap.

I hear you on the space issue. I keep my finished models in my office which doubles as our junk room. And as for the old work bench, well, you’ve seen pics. Four feet by four feet by eight foot tall. But we get it done.

I have absolutely no idea where or how I’ll display my 1:32 Emil, Warhawk, and Raiden when they’re all done. The Stuka is getting hung up, that much I know for sure.

All my other stuff fits nicely into the built1in’s but even then, I’ve got two aircraft which are nearly done, two 1:32’s on the way, and another tank I’m doing. And the ukuleles. And books.

Bruce my man. We’re both gonna need a bigger boat.

A bigger boat would be nice, Ken. Sincerely. Now to make that happen!





The plastic seats are from the kit. I like 'em. Always have. I will try the PE version out, maybe. Not sure. Maybe at this point, let's consider the seats for positioning purposes.

Really not bad, though. The molding, I mean—it's quite clean. and the raised surfaces are crisp.

I feel as though the beam is too high. I must consult the book. Indeed, I have located the beam in the wrong spot. It is much too high. The beam should be much lower. I will do this tomorrow. This hopefully will go smoothly as I used two drops of CA. I will try De-Bonder first. It is late. I am out of time, but I wanted to keep momentum going and take Part 20 (there are two of these - port / starboard) and at least get the principle piece of photo etch out of the bag and on the plane. As far as I am able to determine, everything "hangs around" these beams.

Those seats do look good Bruce. I wouldn't have expected that from Frog moldings.

BTW...I've got space limitations as well but there is no way in HELL I'd ever tackle a 1/144 scale build. No way.
