On a different subject.
Carlos, I'm sure glad you retired when you did. You would have been in the middle of all this defunding garage and right is wrong upside down backward country.
You wouldn't believe how many people are moving to this area. There are new 400 license plate applications per day. There is literally nowhere to house everyone. Families are moving into their friends and families homes or paying more than my mortgage for a 1 br apartment. My house has doubled in value.

Thank you. I sure did dodge a few large rounds retiring when I did. I originally thought that I’d have to stay until the end of June when I turned 55. However I was informed by our retirement folks that would have made less than a $20 dollar difference in my monthly pension. Then I figured that I’d hang out until the date of hire and make it 31 complete years. The wife talked me out of that. So with burning a few weeks on the books that I would not get paid out for, I popped smoke when I did at the beginning of March, although not officially being done until near the end. So I missed the virus lockdown, “summer of Love”, and all the other madness that has happened since that time. I count us most fortunate that aside from some minor inconveniences, we are really living a good new stage of life here.
Between talking to guys still working since I left, and some other folks that I know, I am well aware of the exodus from CA due to what’s gone on there so far this year. This area, and many others in this state are booming with new businesses and home construction. Now if they can only remember why they left and not want to turn this place into what they left...

Folks are leaving New York State in droves as well. Lots of homes up for sale in my neighborhood. Now we just hope it doesn’t turn into another Cornhill (we call it an area where low income riff raff resides - well you know what I mean. Every community has one).

Are the homes selling for a fair price or are the owners just taking what they can?
