Thanks, Mike!!! Your Batman... I want him!

:giggles:

I keep forgetting to ask what blue you used or mix of colors you used for his mask and cape.

Sorry I have been absent Bruce,

I just went back over the last couple of pages and you certainly have progressed! The prop and spinner look really good so yay for Red Roo (proud Aussie moment!) and kudos to you for the workmanship.

Regards,

No worries, Kent. You had a modeling situation that you fully recovered from... and from reading the dialogue between you and John, maybe one of you ought to drop Eduard a line about this as an issue. Your situation has certainly given me a lot to think about. I feel I may actually locate the cockpit tub against the interior of the wing wheel well first then drop the fuselage down on top, so sincerely this was a great community response.

And I think you should check out Red Roo for your next 1/48 Mustang... especially if it is RAF!!

And Kari!

Please check Red Roo out for 1/32 RAF Mustang parts/components.

Might be a scootxh too light but I like it as well. It was just Tamiya spray can Navy Blue with Future applied over it to give it that shine of the satin the original was made of.

That'll look really nice under some paint Bruce - great pin work!

There's also an oval hatch at the base of the spinner...

Nice work with the tubing, Bruce! How are you going to get the prop blades lined up? Lots of variables in multiple dimensions!

Mike, I pulled both of my “navies” (Tamiya and Gunze Navy Blues) out of storage to do a few tests. I think your work looks great. Thanks for responding.

Stuart, thank you for checking in; honestly I end up with twenty minutes after dinner to do what is my equivalent of bench time these days. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to modify the hub properly to accommodate the blades, but in the end, I felt those pins (good term, mate) were the best adaptation. I look forward to your work very much!

John, looks like Hasegawa included a raised line hatch, which looks a little off in shape next to your incredible reference photo! Thank you so much! You have such great eyes for details... truly.

For resource data on prop pitch and placement, I have the Concept Notes from ZM:

I also have been reading the AirCorps Library, too. One idea I have been thinking about and noodling with Thomas by PM is to shoot reference plates of Chino’s restored P-38, P-47D and P-51D. I think it is of utmost importance to have a visual library for reference, and there is a whole section devoted to this on SPAM. I also really want the Smithsonian to release access to their trio of Luftwaffe warbirds to us as well. There are some top shelf modelers working hard here. A good set of resources would be an amazing assistance to them.
