Re: KENNY X HAS A TANK
I was wondering if it was the same tank. That’s good news that it is. Perfect reference.

It may not be “212” but it’s “21something” and the markings are just about identical. Nice!!
What I’m not seeing is the bar. And I’ve seen others like this which didn’t have a bar holding the links down. Which, that’s awesome because I don’t feel like fabricating them LOL

Blowing up the photo, I see 214. Which means same company, 2nd, and same platoon, 1st. Just different vehicle within that platoon. If you go back to the photos of the links that I posted earlier, you can see that there were a few different ways of attaching the extra links. Welded on bars, prongs, etc. it all depended upon the workshop.

Re: KENNY X HAS A TANK
Thank you for the information, fellas. My overall education in military operations has definitely received a boost from all the research details in the threads here. More to go, though.

I’m with Bruce. Thank you Carlos! This particular project has taught me a whole lot, due in large pet to your comments!

Kenny, after two days of Hobby Day I finally got the chance to get caught up here. That is a spectacular step-by-step on that dot filter technique. I might see if it's possible to recreate it in 1/72 scale. Right now though, I just want to get something finished!

Tank looks beautiful, Kenny! Lots of weathering techniques to soak in... thanks for sharing!

Thanks Duke and John!
And Duke- you absolutely can do this in 1:72. You’ll just need fewer dots!
As to Der Schnappër, the oils from the streaks have had all weekend to dry and cure and subsequently mellow out. I hadn’t looked at it hardly at all this past weekend, either. So here it is, under harsh light:

I’m happy with that, and I think in terms of the weathering on the upper hull, I can call that done.
So that means it’s time to work on the lower hull and running gear. Took some time yesterday to get cracking on the wheels.

This’ll take up the rest of this week, into this-coming week too probably. But that’s okay!

Man I love how the body of the tank looks now. A nice moderately weathered look. Not pristine, but not abused. Especially when you think that this thing drove under water....

Fantastic work, bud. Particularly with the transitions from the seams. I just... think that is extremely well done.
