As I've learned on a few cars, sometimes you've gotta be careful with that gloss coat as
some of the graphics that were on cars.........say like an AAR Cuda or a T/A Challenger were applied
over the gloss so it's gotta have that effect so as to
look applied over paint. Most things like effects .......i.e. flame jobs or other graphics are cleared over and
won't have that raised appearance. I've seen some pretty strict judges that'll look for the graphics on factory stock cars.
Like in this example. You can
clearly see the flatness of the graphics over the gloss coat.
Can't copy the images but I'll post the site:

Here's a question - If you use gloss paints would you bother with a gloss clear coat over it?
A good question and I would also want to know ?

Fein Design Model built by Michael Neimas
I am FB friends with him as well as the owner of Fein Design. I will ask him, since it is interesting question! I know Karl-Heinz sources decals from Cartograph.
PS. Can you tell it is a slot car???

Great point and guilty for submitting an example with clear sprayed over the decals. The reason for this would be this is not a static model, it is a slot car and the builder aims to give a measure of protection for waterslide decals. Joe you are absolutely right to point out the correction. Forgive me, the RS-60 project is a slot car and the bulk of my research and tactical approach is relative to slot cars. Of course, there are plenty of crossovers with auto modeling at the highest levels, but Joe you are right to bring forth the accuracy issue.

I know — so talented! Both the designer of the kit and the model maker!
This is appropriate to your tire inquiry. Decals!

No need to apologize there Bruce as it's not a correction really. It's more like a notation. It's all good there homeskillet!
and ...................that IS one BAD A slot car.

Thanks, Joe. That’s the kind of knowledge which makes a difference—so, I am grateful for your information and agree with you about that model’s badassery 110 percent. Over and out!
