A small update. Work on the commander figure. I chain drilled the gap between head and headset then chipped away with the end of a no. 11 blade. I drilled out the neck and then thinned the collar area to accept the head. Sprayed Testors Panzer Olivgrun 43 camouflage:

Hi Kent! Cheers! Your figure work looks super clean and super sharp; you really manage to keep the details together whilst you make the modifications! When I got to see the camo I just said, "WOW!" aloud to myself in response. You really brought that camo work together; the shapes have the slightly out of focus, blurry, smudgy atmospheric look of true camouflage, and wow again but the zimerit looks spec-tac-u-lar. To my mind at least your small update was one of major importance, and very inspiring as well. Thank you.

The Olivgrun was a bit too thick and out of scale for my liking, so I went back over it with Dunkelgelb to thin the lines to a more pleasing size:











I also continued working on the accessories, including the AA MG:











I was going to do the Commander in a full M44 uniform and even base coated him. However the more I looked, the more he appeared to be wearing the early Panzer black jacket. So now he does! Base coat of M44 pants, black base jacket and cap, flesh base and XF1 for the headset:













This is the first time I have seriously approached a figure, especially in acrylics. These are the sets I am using and thus far pleased with:

I have spent the morning adding the MM Panzer Schokoladebraun 43. I did better with the scale markings generally but still a bit heavy handed in some areas. I may have had too much thinner in the mix but a little touch up here and there should fix those areas. I added the track spares and in removing them from the sprue, managed to slice off some moulded work that should be on top. I shall stretch some sprue and add it before repainting:











I added the jack, starter rod and tow shackle to the rear:





The remaining wheels and drive sprockets got their third colour and I have started building the link and length tracks. I even coded them port and starboard!

infinite likes! My Sunday was straight up slug-fest, so I must apologize for missing a posting in sequence: all I remember of Sunday was working in relentless heat, with no need to watch any zombie show since I was officially a zombie as well.

That preamble over, onward to the good stuff—your paintwork is amazing and good job doing an adjustment—your work is so seamless it’s incredible! Congratulations!

A couple hours spent at the bench. AKI True Metal 457 Steel, a cheap make up brush applicator for some wear and dabbed onto the wheel rims, drive sprocket teeth and track guides and external surfaces:









Tracks attached and lots of fiddling and suddenly I had Panzer....tracks!:















Paint touch ups tomorrow or the day after, then decals (all 6) before the final construction prior to weathering.
