Go to actual store... select a kit... take it home and immediately start building.... :hmm:

What a concept!

What a wonderful series of stories from everyone about what it is like to find a kit and begin building right away—it’s about an emotional connection to the hobby itself which too few seem to share openly—at least that is my perspective. Too often the focus is on a critical stance, so it is much more interesting and beneficial to us all to describe a positive experience that led to an even more inspiring investigation of history itself. Model building does that—there are as many layers to the connection as there are layers of paint...

I was going to add just to Stuart but really this addendum is for us all, that this forum is truly a place where we can hang out—an honest place where people care about what others do—and really there is much more good to come from our encouragements then from knocking apart kits and techniques. The real reason we build classics and exotics and old model kits comes from our love for the craft itself, the human creative spark.

Man, you've ever planned on founding a religion? You know how to find the right words, buddy.

Hullo Torben! I thank you, sir. I realize of late my writing here has either evolved or gone off the deep end. Perhaps I am blending both conditions. I was recently tasked with directing and writing a project so that does send me scurrying into a lot of unusual corners. I just refuse to believe that for me this exercise in plastic thinking is a drawer or box within me. I certainly have met fantastic human beings through the pursuit of this investigation. Writing of me personally I find that I need to study how others approach the entire project. I still think of the sward of green underneath your Anton build because it was an elegant display. In the same manner, your 1/72 armor situated on a wooden block struck me as a display aesthetic Malevich would approve. Based on a remark in conversation I also learned from you that your displays are just as much a part of your process as the construction... and I was grateful to see how you articulated this!

Seeing this reminds me of why I build models. Extraordinary in all respects (and I felt I must repost to give proper respect to the builds as well). Cheers!

Did you order the Krome? Make sure you post pics of the new toy. I'll do the same when I get my Sotar.

I am excited for you both! New tools to add more finesse... you are both masters of a smooth finish... or final flourish! Meanwhile Kari, will you revisit any past projects? I understand with the start of the new year we are managing work schedules as well. I’m grateful for what you do!
