Those are both good ideas. Especially part II, building it as is, out of the box, references and potential inaccuracies be damned. The devil in the details can bog us down.

Bouncing between builds can extend one of them quite a bit.

What ever you decide to do Bruce remember it's meant to be relaxing and enjoyable. One reason I've taken a break from reloading rifle ammo I find it all easy and relaxing except for resizing brass. I almost got a bucket full of .308 that I need to do. Pistol is easy no resizing just deprimer clean add primer, powder, lead shoot repeat.

Once I am all set up here in the new home, a reloading set up is one of my goals.

What type of press do you use, Clint? It’s been awhile but there’s a type that allows you to set up your dies and saves some time. Thanks for your thoughts.

I have two Lee single stage presses. That have quick change die stations so once you get your die set at the right level you can lock it and swap out the plate. Then when you go back to that die you don't have to reset it, I always check to make sure anyway. The part I don't like is resizing brass since you got to lube them. You can buy a machine that you just turn a crank and it lubes the case for you but that's expensive. Now 8mm for my Kar98k I don't have to resize since it's bolt action. It's called fourm fire the brass is fitted perfectly to the chamber of that rifle. The downside is you can't fire it out of any other 8mm since the chamber will be different.

That is, simply, outstanding tooling. What value, too! The whole kit is designed to be a success.

I've built this kit before. Tamiya just shrunk the 1/48 kit and didn't lose any of the detail.

I did not know but that explains why this is so beautiful!

Not saying that's exactly how they did it but If you compare all the parts to the 1/48 kit they look identical more so in the cockpit.
