Way to go Lyle! That does look like a smooth coat of white. better than I can do at any rate. I can never get any white to lay down clean; it always ends up looking dirty like a convoy of trucks ran over it! Happens no matter what I do!

You should see it now. The red was a disaster, seepageon every mask, way too much paint. The horizontal stabilizers came off with the tape. Right now, it has been roughly taken apart and is soaking in iso. Haven’t thrown it in the trash ...yet.

Try to spray it on in very light layers at first Lyle. You're not looking for a wet coat so much as you are adequate coverage. After you achieve some good coverage, then you can open that needle up some and get a little thicker coat on there and you'll be fine.

I agree. Do several light coats to build it up and let dry in between. Several light coats will do wonders.

Another trick to fight paint seepage is to spray a gloss coat first to seal the mask edges.

Thanks for the great tips, guys. I am going to change needles on the ab. A cup of paint lasts maybe thirty seconds. Way too much. I did intend light coats, but it was not going to happen. The masks I cut did look okay in areas. I was oh so close to spraying a clear first. But, I got antsy, and for reasons I cannot explain, went ahead. So, most of this was self inflicted.
I guess I deserved it.
