Short Sunderland MK.I Italeri 1/72

Ah! The enormous Junkers Ju 290 from Revell! A beautiful kit! Sadly mine didn´t survive a move some years ago...
This aircraft has a larger span in 1/72 scale than a 1/48 scale Boeing B-17!!!

Lol before to get the kit, seeing 290 pictures I'm used to think '' why this aircraft have so small engines? '' .. After get the kit I see was not the engines that are smaller than normal

The paint used for this plane probably was enough to paint about 10 or more WWII fighters :(

Third and probably last layer of 23 for bottom surfaces





Also first (second on top) layer of 147+77 humbrol and starting to outline camo contours

I would hate to brush paint such large surfaces BSYamato but you make it look so easy!

Highlights on the green, corrected the the darker colors, also drybrushed postshading on the grey and the light bottom color. Also removed masks









a bad problem... the humbrol i used for finished pieces , as rudders, floats and few other pieces does not match the actual i used for the fuselage etc ..





I suspect that the problem are the different stocks of color i used

No need to worry: could have happened on the real aircraft as well. For me this is a nice touch on your model.

I like the different colors. I wouldn't call that a bad problem; I'd consider it more of a complimentary mistake. It almost looks like they had to replace those parts of the aircraft. I think it's a great look and that you should keep it!
