But what color blue? The more I look online, the more I am confused. In 1970, Ford does not list a Pastel Blue...they have "Diamond Blue" or "Baby Blue Ice".
Pastel Blue shows up in 1973.
Why am I worrying about this? I am chickening out on using the airbrush and mixing my own color. I was hoping to find a place with aerosol cans of the automotive color. Found one...$36.00 for a 10oz can. Uh, nope.
Mustang sites show several 1970 Mustangs listed as Pastel Blue. I think I'll paint it pink and let it identify as pastel blue.
Body is primered,, wet sanded and touched up.

I'd be happy to paint it Brittany Blue for you, or Grabber Blue.

It has to be the pastel blue color. That is what she had. I have the MCW light blue enamel and their flat white enamel (just noticed it was flat). I will see if they have gloss white enamel. My plan was to mix it about 50/50 and see what I get.

Is this the Pastel Blue you're trying to achieve? According to this article, it is a rare color. Almost white with a pastel blue undertones.

Great progress thus far Lyle. I think the 1970 Mustangs were really good looking cars! Good enough, that Toyota shamelessly copied them with their 1976 Celicas. And those were lookers too in their day.
Looking forward to the next installment!

As far as I know, yes. We have not found any pictures of the car, yet. She insists it was very light in color and not a baby blue. I've ordered a bottle of the 1970 blue diamond from MCW to see how it looks.

I'd shoot what you have on some plastic spoons and let her decide - can't go wrong that way.
Body cleaned up up nice! Looks good even in primer.

it does look good. I asked her if she wanted me to put the crushed right rear quarter panel on it...she did not smile. She hit some loose gravel going around a curve and went off fhe road leaving Georgetown KY after coming up to visit. We had the car fixed up there and man did it take forever and a day.
I'll have to do that with the colors and see.

I hear ya, Lyle. Do a small batch and add white a little at a time until you find that shade you're looking for.
