John: God I hope that's all that happened. Engine still ran so let's hope I get off light with a set of two lifters and a stud.
Sorry, I’m busy that day.

Aw Bugger Joe! Bummed to hear about your 406. I know how much work you had put into it. I have complete faith that you have it back in top notch working order. Those NASCAR pit crew skills served you well in swapping it out.
I hope your interview went well My Friend. I am certain that you will find your place in the new transition.
Hope your wife had a grand Birthday.
Cheers My Friend, Joe

Lyle: You crack me up man. lol
Joe: Well Joe ol' buddy it's great to see you posting here and no worries about the 406. It looks as though I got off light as there was no other engine damage. I popped the heads off two weeks ago and had 'em in the machine shop the next day. I think I'm going to wait till fall to swap engines back over though as it's just crazy hot here right now......and....I'm enjoying the benefit of some extra fuel economy with the 383. lol
Sorry about the absence all week gang. I'll try to get all caught up with what everyone else has been doing lately this weekend. Busy as hell at work AND at home but I've managed some bench time. I've been working on the dash pretty much all week and it's not the easiest of dashes to negotiate in terms of modeling. I feel that I've turned out a lot better ones than this, but you'll see what I've got to work with.
Here's what I started with:
I ended up cleaning things up a bit flash wise and drilling out all the gauge impressions.
I had some gauges from Goffer Racing that I used for the smaller gauges but used the OOB ones for the speedo and tach to stay as close to OEM look as possible. I then cut them down to squares and glued them in from the back side. The swing pedal levers were then thinned out to a truer to scale thickness and the whole dash was painted up and detailed. The "Camaro" emblem on the glove box was a PE offering from Model Car Garage and the radio face station tuning decal was from the spares box.

Joe, the dash looks great! Are you painting the instruments, using decals, or a combination of the two? The gauges look great!

Good to hear about the positive outcome on the engine. Well, given what you had to work with, that dash looks stellar. The gauges really look sharp.
