Shame it had to die Mike but that's the way of it.

Its a sad fact that for such an important aircraft for the RAF and NATO, we don 't really have a decent kit of the Tornado, especially the ADV, in either 1/72 or 1/48. The Revell kit is okay... but it's not without it's issues and... well it's Revell.

Let’s see, in 1/48 for Tornados there are: ESCI, Airfix, Italeri, Hobbyboss, and Revell… with the last two being comparatively “new tool”.

I have the Italeri kit in 1/48. I love the box art and I hope I can make a decent build out of it. You all have me a bit worried at this point.

If you can't fix it with duct tape, you're not using enough duct tape.

None of them are perfect from what I've read/seen though Carlos - the Revell's the best of the bunch. The ADV variant though, is even worse. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure all of them could be built into decent models, I was happy with my ancient Airfix builds to an extent - but I'd love to see it get the Tamiya treatment!

Hobby Boss has all kinds of shape issues. The next best option is the Italeri one.

I never thought that I’d hear that Italeri is a better option than a newer tool kit.
