Man......it's too late. I've already got this sucker painted. No turnin' back now. Thanks for the info though.

Will be using it in the future.
Still looks like a Corsair though, right?!!!!

To say that the outer to inner wing fit was bad would be a gross understatement. To be honest I don't know how the younger modeler(which is what these kits were targeted at) is supposed to cope with this here. As a kid I would have been frustrated at this.. Time to break out the hobby knife and sanding sticks.
Fast forward to the "overbite" repair. Ok I had gotten that fixed................Now the outer wings were spread too far apart. You gotta be sh

I ended up busting out one of my sacrificial paint brushes and inserted the handle into the wing to spread it out just the right amount:
and dipping it in hot water just before the boiling point for 10 seconds and refitted the wing.
I now had no complaints at this point. Moving onward from here.

a lot of work on an old kit but it looks good. I for me like those old kits, can't explain why. I'll follow you.

Thanks mlp. I think the mere fact that I'm giving this build to a good friend of mine is the driving force here. I would have stopped at the air intake issue and switched to Tamiya already if it were a build for me. And I wanted this thing done by Christmas. With the Tamiya that wouldn't have been possible.
Thank you Lyle. Man youre up early this morning. And yes............................LOTS of patience!!!

Good morning! I fixed the bold tags....had a couple of extra in there. Up a bit early. My nose has been so stopped up for the last couple of weeks, I can't breath laying down. That and the doggies were getting restless.....Your honor your friend in a special manner...
