Main wing flaps on and weapons bay installed...
3 part cowling done. I used nose cowling as template to get it lined up correctly.
How I lined it up using nose cowling as template
That's it for the night. It has been a long day at work subbing for one of our couriers who is out sick.

Morning progress... did some test fitting for nose cowling and top cowling cover. I had to cut out some stuff in order to have it sit right, including the top portion of weapons bay and the engine itself. I also will have to make a brace to hold the sides of fuselage in order for the top cowling cover to sit right as close as I can get it. Here's where Im at at the moment:
With portions of weapons bay removed, including MG mount
With half of engine removed to fit in cowling itself. The back portion will not be used. As Ive already mentioned before, it is/was going to be a shame youre not going to see it once buttoned up.

Oh that does look quite complex!

Keep up the good work and don’t let any problems discourage you!

You're doing great considering the kit. And yes that is the kit I attempted and binned.

My hammer is nearby if it comes down to binning it myself. So far, it’s a wait and see how things pan out from here on out. I’ve been working at it as little as possible to prevent me from getting frustrated with this one. A couple minutes here, 5 minutes a few hours later, 5 minutes before calling it a night…. all depends how things work out for me.

You're doing a great job on this Tom - little and often is the way to go.

Sprue as a brace to pull in fuselage top in for cowling cover.
