No, it's not the Zero yet, but the 1/48 Airfix P-51D Mustang, that I started to build January 12th 2021, almost a year ago!

It was 95% ready for months and months and months.. And just stalled when those bits and pieces had to be done.

Next in line, the Zero !

Many thanks Chris, I enjoyed the Airfix P-51D more than I did with Eduards (which was never finished).

I had my challenges with the Airfix kit, but clearly not so serious ones, as I have forgot precisely what they were ! :giggles:

I took the small Vought Kingfisher embryo on my bench and decided to be effective, by adding the main float into the fuselage

As it went easier than I thought, I decided to do one of the wing floats.. Quite fiddle pieces and the fit a little bit this and that.. :hmm:
But long live blu tac!

looks to be coming along very well.

Just one more wing float to go…

Thanks Lyle, Mike and Carlos!

Both wing floats in place and preparations for painting has started by masking the canopy. I found a pretty easy and straight forward method to mask the individual canopy frames. Not only easy, but pretty fast as well
