Thank you for checking in, Medicman and Mustang! The thread took a turn towards some box artist history, but all is well. TGIF.

Color mixes; against unrestored floor panels... could be three greens (floor, frame, seat) inside that cockpit....

:hmm:

But this is great news Bruce!

I will definitely use this "color chart" as reference when I make my decision. Have already one favorite! :-)
Fantastic to have 3 different options to choose from and all historical accurate.

Kari!!

Thank you for your response and comments!! I found an older online thread re paint that I need help interpreting. I do not have the link here at work but I will find it and post here. I think Carlos may have researched this in his earliest comment about black floorboards. Apparently there is a Swiss Mustang in a museum I suppose in Switzerland and has the original factory WWII spec interior... and the floor boards are plywood painted black.

Also in the old thread the paint mixtures I am using are described by Dana Bell based on work orders specific to production runs.

And the instrument panel black has an eggshell cast to it, more pronounced as more aircraft were made.

Thanks Bruce,

I also have understood the plywood floor in the P-51 was painted with some kind of special anti-slip black paint.

Which reminds me... Pic of the AM tail making Revells early version a late one, so I can use my decals...

( in the background my new A2 size cutting mat, the color being a little bit "different" so to speak)

Next Q is... Should I invest in an Instrumen Panel from Yahu or not... :hmm:
