The drop tanks got a nice coat of Alclad and paneling. the darker NMF is a mix of ALC-101 with MM Burnt Steel



Working on the tidbits like the double Sidewinder Launchers and the AIM-9B. I am adding copper wire into the Sidewinder so that it adhere better to the launchers. All of these example are very simple, but in good shape. it was easy to clean up. Alternately, the launchers sucks, and I had to do some work to clean it up

Nice job! I'd like to do that with some of my missiles but in 1/72 scale, I can't find any wire small enough! LOL! Way to go; brilliant idea too!

get some speaker wire and unwrap it.

Yes, old Ipod patch cables have some extremely fine wire in them. When the cable is no longer serviceable, open in up for oodles of fine wire. It's almost like hair.

Good ideas guys! I have some old charging cables for my Iphones and such that the cats have chewed through. Are those superfine wires in there too?

Yes. My ipod and iPhone use the same charging wire. Your cat just provided you with some great detail wiring.... kitty deserves a treat....

The schematics is very simple. Here, I am using 0,75mm copper wire, which are easily available here in Indonesia as telephone cables. each cable contains a pair of copper wire that are individually insulated. the cost like 15cents per meter



The holes were drilled using mini 0,75mm bits.

Thanks Carlos! I'll have to snag all of them before my wife decides to toss them all. I told her to leave them around as 'decoys' to keep the cats from nibbling on the ones we are using.

Thanks Monty. That will help. I'll be using No. 80 drill bits or smaller as I build in 1/72 scale.

Trodding along with the undercarriages. the front wheel installation



then the main landing gear. now the reason why the struts are pure white and the wheel bay is kinda bluish grey is because the black undercoat that I sprayed before the white top coat. it came to my attention that i NEEDED more layers of white to build that opacity.



Here is another angle. I painted the copper wire metallic colors (aluminum , steel, gun metal, a mix of those) as I just knew after close inspection that they are actually metal tubes (hydrolics? electricity?). can you see the copper pins on the bay doors?
