If only Karl-Heinz designed aircraft kits. His Maserati is to die for! It is possible to build his kits as slot car or static model:

Paul Fisher designs both aircraft and automobiles!

Both of these men are insanely talented. Their kits are off the charts!!
I am huge fan of these independents!

Jumping from slot cars back to the MG-B:
* * *
Paintwork started yesterday evening on the chassis. I put a layer of MR Paints "Super Matt Black" on the bottom car chassis.
Next steps is to do some paint work on the only visible part of the engine.
To "protect" the pretty nice layer of super matt black on the chassis, some careful masking before shooting a suitable color on the oil pan and engine block
Here the visible part of the hollow engine

That's a very nice looking black that. What are you going to put onto the engine?

Thanks Bruce and Stuart!
Regarding the colour, it will be red, still researching a little bit should it be dark or a little bit lighter red. Find both ”versions”. However, will need to mix that colour regardless of decision, as I don’t have any suitable red in my colour stash

Looks like the engine block is red and the oil pan is black in this photo Kari.

But then again here the pan looks red. It's hard to tell really but at least it's a decent picture of the 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engine. There's the color you're lookin' for anyhow.

Thanks Joe,
The instructions also show that engine (and gearbox) should be black, but googling I saw a number of other colors as well.
By the way, the 1st pic is really perfect, showing couple of other details regarding the front suspension.
Difficult, but regardless of the color, the masking will not be for nothing. If the oil pan will be black, I need to paint it in slightly different black anyhow, to get those contrasts and shapes better visible.
