Finally I got the AM seatbelts.. My intention was not to start with them tonight, but here we go...

I have this love-hate relationship to these textile belts from HGW Models...



Compared to last time (the Fw190 build), this time it went much easier to construct the harness. But still it took an hour, amazing how quickly times go when you just concentrate on one detail.

Enough for today with the belts. I felt my patience started to reduce, so smartest to stop.

But there is always a new day tomorrow!

HGW has such great graphics and textures. What a realistic result, Kari. I wonder if I have your patience... I was going to experiment with wine bottle foil, basically to see if it was possible to create a similar feeling. You brought the belts to life!

Your patience paid off, that harness looks great!

I don’t know precisely which thread to post this, which is a very good thing because it means instead of one or two threads I am actively following there are ten, which is quite a state of renewal for our forum, and mainly thanks to KennyX who seems to be determined to staff an airwing of good looking and lethal Luftwaffe fighters with aces on board. So!

I keep thinking as soon as you post that you receive your big Mustang I will want to follow not only vicariously but in reality with a 1/32 version of my own... the feeling is growing stronger the more I fiddle with the 1/48 ICM.

Pssst... Bruce... the Revell 1/32 P-51D Mustang is in stock again at Sprue Brothers. Great price too... $23 and some change. Almost pulled the trigger myself. Watching all of the Mustang and 109 action here makes me want to jump in as well. Talk about peer pressure!

Hey Kari... just curious? Did you not crumple the HGW harnesses prior to assembly per the instructions? I've done the crumpling routine myself but I find that it sometimes has an adverse effect on the fine printing that can be found on the newer HGW harnesses and can also cause the micro fibers to unravel. Without the crumpling, they are too straight and uniform for my tastes but crumpling can be damaging.

I knoooowwwww! 23 bucks for “Lou IV.” I shot the lock off my wallet on an old 1/32 Hase from the collection of an aviation artist and Mustang lover... the kit is pristine and my first Hase kit ever!!!

And John — Go for it!

Whatever you do... don't judge Hasegawa on the basis of this Mustang kit. They produce MUCH better kits now. In many ways, even preferable over Tamiya, from my perspective.
