Exactly. Exactly. I saw a 1/32 Wingnut Wings biplane painted with spray cans and felt so small after that. That was a shock. Fella won awards, too.

A good spray can is not to be trifled with!

You should see some of the graffiti in the coulee behind my house! I’ll take photos of it tomorrow at first light and send them to you on FB. It’ll blow your mind.

I've seen that image before, thanks for sharing it Carlos - what you don't see is in a few seconds a Tornado GR.1 flies under it... I'm kidding...or am I?

Thanks for all the tips on the spray cans folks (and yes I agree, that JU-87 is amazing!) but I already have a fairly large collection of rattle cans. I find Tamiya are very nice, as are the Humbrol colors actually. I also have a few citadel paints too - but I have to say I'm not a big fan of them, I've found them to be quite random in their 'wanting to work'.

We'll see - anyway, I think you under-estimate my ninja master brush painting skills... I can do a passable job when I put my mind to it you know - with a bit of shading and modulation and everything (well sort off).





Note - that last comment was very much meant in jest - I do really appreciate the advice.

Just to show I do actually make things as well as talk about them.



I was getting really sick of trying to sort out the seams on my Monogram Typhoon. The plastic is very dark and hard and not easy to work with. So I shot it with a rough coat of tamiya primer and then hit it with some more filler...

Sand, Fill, Sand, Fill etc - god I love this hobby.

While I'm at it. I was starting to get a bit burnt out again over the last month or so, and then I realised that I had 9 kits in wip.. yes 9. That's far too much to cope with, so I had a bit of a physical and mental clear out and boxed them all up an put them back in the stash.

I've kept out the F-4, the Typhoon and the Triumph - and I have to say I'm feeling better for it. I'd like to get a few more finished before I crack on with the Herc, as I know I'm going to start it as soon as I get it. I've also been playing with the 1/24 Harrier I have - I think it might hit the bench soon, so I've finally bitten the bullet and ordered a resin cockpit for it.

I'm back off sanding now...

Sand/Fill Purgatory. My man. Seams. Bane of my existence. Heh. 109’s are supposed to have them. And yet somehow, those are the ones I always get the seam perfect. Ironic, isn’t it? LOL

Good luck! I am not a fan of Monogram’s dark plastic. It is difficult to clearly see the seam lines with dark plastic. Ditto all dark plastic; black in particular.

Very wise to cut down on all the WIPs, and put several aside. I did the same several years back and am slowly working my way thru cleaning up the backlog.

And don’t worry about the Monogram Tiffy, she’s an oldie but goodie. Straight OOB she is fine, and with a little help, you can have a real gem there.

Thanks Gents, I don't actually mind this part of building (there's a fair bit of satisfaction in it) but this plastic is a real pain.

I know you mean Bruce - Dark coloured plastic can be the worst.

I do feel better already Stik - And yes, It does seem to be a good kit!

Well after a long battle with seemingly very hard plastic - I think I've finally managed to finish the seam work on the Monogram Typhoon. There might be a need to do some more work under the guns but we'll see after paint, and I'll need to fill a couple of areas under the windscreen with PPP.

This is the kit I'm doing BTW.



And here's where I am - I'm starting to enjoy this build again, the Tiffy is my all time favorite aircraft and it's great to be building such a large scale one (well to me anyway!)





I've also got a new set of paints to try on this build - some of Revell's AquaColour. They're supposed to be great for brush work but I'm having to fill the hell out of them as they're VERY thick. I'm not too sure about the light grey on the undersides - I think it might be a tad too warm but we'll see.



And as Kenny would say - here's what I've been listening too today. A bit different I know - but a bit of peace and calm was needed - and Agnes has it in spades.
