Just how big is a 1/48 scale YF-12?

Here it is next to a 1/72 scale YF-12 and an eighteen inch ruler (45 cm for the rest of the world)

Yep! Looks about right. I built a 1/72 scale YF-12A myself and that is one big aircraft!

Wow! She's a big one! And to think the Monogram 1/72 scale B-52 Stratofortress or the B-39(?) Peacemaker were big.

I often wonder if some kit manufacturer would bang out 1/32 B-17 or a B-52 kit? Imagine how much they would be?

To reply to your comment. the 72 scale b-52 and B-36 are both big l=kits as well. And now there is a 32 scale B-17G and the B-17F is coming out soon as well as a British Lancaster bomber!

I know the 1/72 bombers were big kits, I built both back in the 70's myself. LOL!

I have both of those and the Trumpeter TU-95 in my stash and have built the 72 scale XB-70.

The first of my 3 oddball, but least weird, SR-71 builds:
