Very nice!

Haven’t really had the possibility to comment this thread before, but simply astonishing build with a fantastic ”what if” theme!

Here the other of in total two Emils that ended in Sweden during the war, (the other one from 1942 got hardly any damage)

Yup, that is part of the inspiration for the build. Saw that picture (but smaller size) somewhere. Very very do able to be repaired but it would have needed the other Emil to have stayed instead of being taken back to Norway so parts could have been duplicated.

Paint has arrived early so we will see what it looks like in a couple days. Still waiting on the decals to show up.

Couple hours til the paint goes down, after looking closely at the paint and samples I made I changed what color I am going with. Will be following the colors that match as close to the FS colors that the original Swedish aircraft colors were similar to. Learned that some of AK Interactive colors are spot on to what you see on the screen, others are not. But that is why I ordered two sets of paint and I will have a use for the ones I don’t use here!

paint scheme is done, I know about the scratch in the paint but lucky for me a decal is going there.

It is different for sure but also fun to do. Now something I learned (which is why the green is pretty green instead of a more olive color) is the Swedes exterior green and interior green were the same color because they painted them cockpit green, their version of it. Or that is the info I read that was stated at the Swedish Air Force Museum. Right now the colors are pretty stark so I hope the wash tones her down a bit. Seeing as this would have been an Experimental aircraft to the Swedes, the wash is the most this build will get for weathering. I did give the green some variation but that will be the most of it. I plan to only have two more sets of photos, one right after decals are placed and then the finished build.

She looks really good in that color. This has been a very good what if build.

That shade of green looks beautiful! And since it is a “what if?”, nobody can really fang you. You could conceivably even stick with RLM colors applied in the Swedish style.

This should shape up nicely. I'm with the rest of the gang on liking that shade of green. It'll make for a different 109 on the display shelf for sure.
