There is a possibility that the power egg was painted in the more traditional blue 76 as well as the lighter color on the wings. But that's the fun of these late war schemes... lots of variation and interpretation and not enough references to say any one of them is wrong.

Definitely consider getting a Silhouette Portrait. The Oramask 810 masking material is translucent, making it much easier to place the markings.
Thanks for the encouragement John! I was thinking of painting the engine section with blue 76 and it's not to late yet. That would just mean even more masking.
As for the Silhouette Portrait can the Oramask 810 also be purchased at Hobby Lobby or would I have to order that?

I always have that "it looks strange" moment on my late war Luftwaffe subjects. Now I look at it as an indication that I'm going in the right direction! :giggles:

I've ordered my Oramask 810 online. Most recently, I bought a 5 yard length of 12" Oramask 810 from MyCraftSource.com for $18.65 shipped.

Thank you for the info John.

I got the underside crosses and the fuselage crosses masked and painted then a gloss coat put down.

Then after my friends left after are D&D game I sat down and added the decals. I've never had problems with Eduard decals but this time one decal broke apart as soon as I touched it and of course it was one of the black 6 decals.

I went through all my spare decals and all the Luftwaffe kits I have and I have no other black 6 decal the right size. I've tried cutting my own but no luck.
All the other decals went down no problem and after about 2 hours I had them all down.

Not sure what I'm going to do from here but will let the decals dry a few days anyway before spraying another Aquagloss coat on them before weathering.
Thanks for looking in!

Oh no only one of them broke apart the last photo shows the missing 6 on the other side of the fuselage. No way that could be pieced together the more I touched it the more it broke.

Lyle you are awesome! I don't have a scan but I found this from the review of the kit on hyperscale can you use it?

just need one of the black 6s decal number 18
My calipers only read in standard I get 35ths tall by 22ths wide or roughly 11/32s tall by 7/32s wide.

1122 Bugs Bunny Avenue... :giggles:

All joking aside, that looks great! If the shattered “6” decal is your worst mishap at this point, you’ll be just fine.

Thanks Carlos! Yeah I'm getting close to the end now and this is the only snag so far.
