Guess cause I'm a modern jet guy I know these things. We now return you to our regularly scheduled build.

Modern jets have such long service life spans they can change quite a bit in both details and overall appearance.

Yep! The noses on Super Hornets are taking on a different hue of grey now that they've been flying for a while.

So I have a question for everyone. The ejection seats come with the belts molded onto them. I hate painting them cause I suck at painting that small. Now the Super Hornet decal set I have has belts that I can use. Of course I'd have to scrape off the molded on. What do you think I should do? Oh and I removed the ejection pull handle off the front of the seat to ease painting.

Personally I'd paint them and have done, I like decal belts but I've never had to remove moulded ones to use them before so really couldn't comment. Do they look difficult to scrape off?

A steady hand (or support), a small brush, and a LITTLE TINY bit of paint at a time.... Go on, you know you want too!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. It looks to difficult to scrape off.

Sometimes great ideas come at you from nowhere. So I was going through weapons to see what I wanted to load them with. One will be set up for air to air and the other for strike. I was looking for a Maverick missile launcher when I saw my Hasegawa F/A-18F. I wonder if it has drop tanks. Well damn, it had FOUR of them. They were taken to use on these two. I can get some resin ones later. Oh and I decided against the Maverick since I couldn't find a launcher.

I would try to paint them too. Something about a decal seat belt that I can never get to look right. I think it might be the dead flatness of it. Great find with the drop thanks too.
