Finally put some "racing stripes" on my Fiat!

Looks like it is almost finished. Did you apply Future locally or are the decals still wet in the pics?

I just applied it locally. Usually I coat the whole thing with Future or glosscoat, depending on the paint. I thought I'd try locally this time. The only downside is I had to use Walthers Solvaset to get good contour adhesion, and you can see it clouded some of the Future. Nothing a little acrylic thinner won't cure.

Thanks Jim. The issue here is that I've been trying a few "firsts" on this one. One of which is trying to locally apply Future with a brush. As for clearing it up, I'll probably apply more Future. Acrylic thinner on a q-tip will clean it off, but requires some scrubbing. Since I paint with enamels exclusively, acrylics are my weathering medium.

One thing I always do is seal the final paint with a shot of flat laquer prior to doing anything else. That ensures that regardless of what I do, the paint should be protected. Usually I cover the whole model with Future, just to make sure the coat looks even.

Once I get the decals snugged, I'll shoot it with another coat of clear flat. Then it's wash and weather time.

Excellent job on the decals. As for the frosting, just brush or shoot some more future on it and it will all go away. No need for thinner. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Shaping up nicely Lawman! Is it just the angle of the pictures, or do the wings actually have a little bit of forward sweep?? (I'm not familiar with many of the Italian machines )
