Flightline Engineering did a resin update set for this kit which I have and it is very well done. It has no canopy parts. 109 Ace makes a set including canopies which I don't have, though I have some vacuform canopy and turret parts for the Monogram B-24. The clear parts are a little cloudy as I got them and I reserve comment on them until I use them.

I have a set of resin engines, but I don't think I'm going to use them. They are just a solid piece, engine and cowling, which will make it a bit difficult to paint and detail the engines the way I like to. On top of that, there are no instructions of any kind, and honestly I'm a bit confused about it. It looks like it would glue onto the shorter boom right behind the cowl flaps. But the amount of grinding I would have to do to clear out behind the flaps and make it look proper is way too much for my liking. I know resin isn't a good thing to have flying through the air and breathing it in, so I think I'll just stick with the kit parts. I'll use the resin wheels I have though. I'm pretty sure I had bought the resin engines off eBay from a forum member over at finescale, but it was several years ago, so I don't remember.

Well unfortunately I haven't been able to get much bench time in the last several days. My 13 yr old daughter woke up Wednesday morning not feeling well, sore throat, slight fever. Which turned into body aches, and a fever of a 103 in the afternoon. By that evening the fever wasn't responding to meds, so hubby took her to the ER. She got tested for covid, and the flu. Flu it is. Fever did eventually come down, so they came home home after pit stopping to get her some dinner. Thursday morning I had to get in her in a luke warm shower to get the fever to come down an hour after taking ibuprofen and it not working. She was alright until Thursday evening, when it shot back up again, and even the luke warm shower didn't work. We tried tylenol, called the dr they said give her the ibuprofen as well, and if the fever does come down in an hour, go to the hospital. It did finally start coming down after about forty five minutes, but very slowly. Seems we have had a slightly better handle on it today. It really won't go below a hundred even with meds. It's hard getting her to drink water, or eat anything when her temp is up. I'm crossing my fingers the fever is gone tomorrow, and I can relax. I've been on edge, and watching her just about constantly the last three days. One of the worst parts of being a parent I feel like. Not having any control over what is happening to them.

Been there, done that with my son when he was a kid. Hope she feels better soon. They did say this year’s flu season is going to be pretty bad & brutal. Did she get the flu shot?

Nope, no flu shot. She'd prefer not to, and I won't force her. I don't usually get one either. I know it sounds cliche, but the one year I got a flu shot I got the flu a few months later, lol. I told her to wear a mask at school, and she said she was, but of course she wasn't. Told her last week you don't want to get the flu do you? Of course answers in teenage smugness, I don't care. Well she cares now. Hopefully I don't have to be monitoring her so much tomorrow, and get back to the bench, since I'm missing out on the museum. Hubby went hunting for the weekend, since it's the last weekend. So I'm not leaving her alone while sick.

Just keep her hydrated. Drink water, pedialite, Gatorade, or something else to keep her system working. Don’t worry about food at this point. That’s easy to remedy once the fever is quashed. Dehydration is far more dangerous than lack of nutrition.

Both hubby and myself have been on her ass to drink. I got her some gatorade yesterday. She's still running a fever, this is day 4 now. We can keep it under control with ibuprofen. So I get that in her as soon as she wakes up, make her sip at the gatorade. Once the fever comes down she usually gets her appetite back and she'll eat. I'm really hoping this is the last day of the fever. If not I'll be making a call to her dr. tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed I don't get it. I've been spraying lysol everywhere daily, and she's pretty good about covering her cough and sneezes. Her temp really won't go down below 99.3. It's usually hovering around 100.5 most of the time, even with meds. Which is what concerns me. I just hope it breaks soon, and goes the hell away. It's been a rough couple of days for this already anxiety ridden Mom.

Really sorry to hear this, I hope her fever breaks soon - it's never easy seeing our little ones ill.

Sheesh!!! She's really having a rough go with this. Usually, the meds and a shower work pretty well but it seems that this stuff really has its hooks in pretty deep. Hope all is better today Keyda.

Fortunately the kiddo is doing better today. No more fever. Still has a nasty cough so I think I'll keep her home from school one more day. She's only got a few more days left before Christmas break anyway. Haven't gotten back to the Widow yet. I did a few other things I've been putting off like embroidering some T-shirts, and fixing my camera. I'll tell ya what I was sweating the entire time taking my camera apart. All those little screws, most of which wanted to strip. I finally managed, and got it working again. It has been stuck in shutter priority mode since before Halloween. The mode dial would just spin, and not actually change the mode it was in. A few tabs broke off the plastic dial inside, and wouldn't turn the cam. So I super glued it. Hopefully it holds now. Maybe I can get back the widow some time this week.
