Pollyscale Dirty White... I have a bottle of that, too.

Re: 1/48 F-16 Prototype
Yes I really like the scheme. The original 1/72 Hasegawa kit had it as an option when frost released way back when, and of course I chose that option when I built it, as opposed to the red, white, and blue scheme.

It actually wore this scheme in 1974 during the fly off against Northrop’s YF-17 at Edward’s AFB.

I’m thinking of hitting the Dirty White areas with a light overcoat of Vallejo Ivory just to lighten them up a tad bit. The Dirty White takes on a different look depending upon the lighting.

Right?! It’s a shame that it wasn’t the official scheme for service.

Beautiful research, buddy! In print those aircraft colors really are really quite striking!
Make more models!

I'm guessing they're Aggressor schemes?

No, this is one of the flight test prototype schemes during the YF-16/YF-17 fly Off back in the mid 70’s

Back when T-38s and F-5Es were Aggressors at Nellis.

Re: 1/48 F-16 Prototype
This morning I did the touch up of the Air Superiority Blue overspray on the Off White areas

Looking much better now methinks.
Then I had to do a test fit of the drop tanks. You can really see the difference between the Off White and White, just like on the real aircraft

about ready to move on to gloss coat now...

WOW! That's an absolutely cracking scheme on an f-16. what a shame they didn't have that instead of the two tone grey.
Fabulous work Carlos!

Re: 1/48 F-16 Prototype
Thank you! Isn’t it a great looking scheme? The YF-17 wore something similar at one point. This prototype also wore a Ghost Gray scheme similar to what the F-15 used for production. The Air Force experimented with several schemes before they went to the three gray production scheme.
