Kent, that’s what I’m thinking, yeah. Just glue supports in there, leave it alone, and then get that piece on.
Alternatively, I do have spare parts. I can rebuild that entire wing section and install the piece that supports it. What sucks is, I need new insignia decals and Roy is once again sold out.
I’m going to try your fix first.

What the dickens—? Dude. Relax. Do not shelve this project. Treat this as a construction challenge—I would follow Kent’s perfectly sound advice. Except for the glue. I am just not a fan of Tamiya thin cement especially for load bearing joins. Shit. I am sorry this happened but you gotta treat it as a step in the build and not a stop.
1. Kent’s right: you need to build a spar that will lock the pieces together. Do not worry you can do this.
2. I would use fairly rigid plastic. Cut off sections of sprue from the kit, as it is my position that kit to kit plastic bonds are slightly Black Magic attracted to each other in ways that carded plastic is not... you’re technicalky dealing with the same type of plastic.
3. Make spar one fit into the wing.
4. Make spars two and three fit into the fuselage wing join.
5. Test test test test fit. Build a support jig like a cast made of cardboard to hold the position as the glue sets.
6. Glue with a fairly fast epoxy. The kind that gives a few moments to align perfectly before setting.

Bruce,
Yeah buddy! That looks about right! I’m gonna do it. I’m still in the fight. I ain’t even on the ropes yet. And I’m definitely gonna break out the big guns for cementing those supports and for where the other piece joins to the supports, and then extra thin for the join on the wing skin, because all that’ll do if it touches the paint is run it, which I can easily fix.

As a suggestion, maybe de-tack some Tamiya tape and use it to delicately shield the paint work on edges. That is why I suggest epoxy instead of Extra Thin Tamiya.

Back in the game! I tried a combination of Kent and Bruce’s suggestions and sonfar, so good!
Any damage to the paint caused by the epoxies and glues I can correct. At present the dihedral is correct and at this time that’s the #1 concern. I am happy to re-paint as needs be. And if this doesn’t work in the long haul, I have secondary and tertiary (building a whole new wing -thankful for spare parts from two other failed Corsair builds) options available.
