To a degree yes. I’m one of those people who likes to crawl around a junkyard and look at what is there. Heavy weathering is something I became used to at an early age working in my Grandfathers gas station. I had plenty of rust in my eyes at a young age. Here in Mn they use enormous amounts of salt on the roads in the winter. Any exposed metal doesn’t stand a chance. I built a couple of race cars in my day also, so banging my knees and head on roll cages made me feel at home doing the 229. The amount of functional details ZM put in the kit is outstanding! Thanks for the vet kind words Bruce I look forward to seeing what else you come up with on this 190

I grew up in PA. So, yes, road salt is murderous on car frames and finishes. I remember seeing daylight through the holes in an old Studebaker we got ahold of. I think my Dad was paid to put a Hurst shifter in it which he was kind of definitely against but the customer wanted it.

Picked Payne’s Grey up today.

I fitted Henri’s resin interior pieces via a brass rod to the engine—tonight I ground down the armored ring to fit. Pardon the lump of kneaded eraser on the tip that holds the pieces on!!

I've said it before them resin pieces you got look awsome, you going to leave the spinner off to show this off?

Clint—The fit is so precise both the spinner shaft and the fan behind it spin easily... it's unreal and real fun. I plan to get a couple of tiny rare earth magnets to hold the hub on top, which is what John did.

Those magnet-things really seem to be "the thing" now a little bit everywhere in the modellingworld !

Thanks, gents. I actually thinking I’ll drill a hole behind the engine plug and epoxy one inside there.




The other red arrow indicates the alternate position. The yellow indicates where I think the magnet will be fitted. I dunno... I’m making this up as I go along!
