Store them in the fridge when not in use or they will harden with time. Ask me how I know.

Wow, thank you gents for your tips! I sincerely appreciate the refrigerator advice, Mike! Didja know that putting a CA joined kit in your freezer will pop the joins? This is sometimes useful if no debonder is at hand. I’ve been thinking about making the tip section active; I’ve been collating my Dad’s advice to me with the idea to make this an ebook for model builders of all ages. I’d like to share the fun of the hobby alongside these practical matters.
The best news was finding the Windsock Data File for the Sopwith Camel. That’s a boon for my cockpit scratchbuilding as it features cut away drawings!

Auxiliary tank form will be next. I’ll cut a piece of plastic card to serve as a base.

Both fuel fillers are located too far back on the rear deck. I’m deciding if I want to “fill them” and add details.

I'm painting the main tank aluminum tomorrow. Fingers and toes crossed it turns out all right.

Well I masked everything, it’s going to be painted as part of the frame; but first I had to saw off the top to accommodate the auxiliary tank (I’m not sure if WnW includes this and why not as it is part of the design) and I reworked the bands and straps keeping the tank in place. To glue the styrene strip I used Mr. Just, which is another high powered tube glue that dries very fast and flattens to the surface. I guess we are all glue aficionados here, myself included.

Sculpting the Main Fuel Tank
This has been an odyssey, trial and error, trial by fire, lots of Milliput muck hard drying between my finger nails until I smartened up and started to wear gloves. There's roughness here as I'm figuring things out on the fly, but it has been enjoyable despite having to go back and forth between the measurements of the actual tank versus what is possible to fit within the plastic shell.
This is essentially a partial piece of the main tank which is all I'm doing here. I’ve added some details made from sliced black Evergreen styrene. I looked up the ingredients of Mr. Just and lo and behold it was Krazy Glue (ingredients were translated and added as a sticker since these tubes are imports). Mr. Just worked perfectly to adhere the five thin strips to the sculpted shell, but aligning the strips on a less than perfect form was difficult.
In retrospect I should have built the gas tank form from styrene as well, but, but, but the form needed to fit within the confines of the fuselage halves so I needed some malleable material to make that happen.
