Thank you so much, Scruffy. There is a particular Micro-Mark glue Borg suggested I try. I need to find his posting to recover the name. The tip about Krystal Klear is greatly appreciated. I have never used Krystal Klear but I would like to experiment with using it to see how effective it is with seams.

Carlos, thank you so much! I have been putting the time into making the forms smooth yet doubt I will ever be able to quite polish away the marks from stretching the plastic. However the good news is that the majority of stretch marks are in the corners. I know next to nothing about vacuform but I imagine the pressure of the punch die is strong and clean enough to stretch the plastic evenly over all the surface area.

Here is my progress last night polishing and using the hot water method to smooth the corners a bit more. Note the slight occuded look from heating the plastic. That look polishes away with minimum effort.

That's awesome Bruce... you've done it! That looks WAY better than that first effort. The shape is really there! I see some "wrinkles" as you say but overall, it looks like you've crossed the threshold between "Is this possible?" and "I can do THIS!".

FYI... Krystal Klear is a variation of good ole Elmer's White Glue. It may dry a little clearer than Elmer's but it has the same bonding properties.

I am so excited, John! I have seen two builds of the same subject by different modelers and both have used the windscreen from the kit — it’s just not what was used on the actual car #60 despite the incredible qualities of both these builds: this vaulted windscreen matters. It was a part of the car’s racing modifications and with good reason.

I think your efforts are paying off in regards to the windscreen. The size shape and contours look correct. With all your shaping and polishing, eventually you’ll reach the point of diminishing returns of efforts vs. results, but only you can truly decide when that is.

Looks like it was made to be there. Awesome stuff man.
