I like photo etch IP’s, always will, but lately I am leaning toward not using the PE anyplace else in the cockpit and opting to use the kit cockpit as-is without the other PE stuff. Paint it and wash it well and it looks great. And I can see where resin would be even better, in terms of giving me more detail to work with when painting. And that three dimensional depth was exactly what I was shooting for and I appreciate your commenting on it, it feels good to have hit the mark.

Today has been interesting. I got called into a teleconference for the past few hours, only the stuff they needed me to work on wasn’t working properly so they had to call the vendors to join and help fix it. I couldn’t do anything until they were done, so Iwas just kind of sitting there fielding the odd question here and there, and, well, *this* happened;

All I wanted to do was seal the fuselage. But then, this.

I guess I’m experiencing the Tamiya “Shake The Box” phenomena.

Dihedral is good. Wing roots are good. Rear stabs at the tail are squared up and the struts fit perfectly, although I did manage to break one in half whilst removing it from the sprue (no problem, just glue one half in, then wet the broken end with Extra Thin, then glue the other half into the hole and maneuver the broken ends together and POW! fixed.)

Nothing to fill. A few spots to sand but that’ll be easy. So yeah, I guess just wait for this cool front to pass so that I can prime her and start painting. Gee wiz!

That's looking really cool - can't beat Tamiya!

I'm really into just doing things mainly OOB at the moment. I've never been fond of PE (I'll use it if I have too) and resin, although promising a great deal, has always been a pain in the arse for me - I hate the stuff. I must have scrapped half a dozen kits over the years whilst trying to fit blooming resin cockpits.

It's funny that you've been modelling during your lunch. I've been modelling in the back of my car during my lunch breaks for years now. Most of the F-5 and Panzer II were built at work. I've also been on many a telephone meeting whilst working at home and have also been building models whilst doing it.

I made a brief foray onto the modeling bench during lunch today but managed no work done. I opened up the Trumpeter Me262 box, looked at the near completed fuselage and wing assemblies, gave a sigh and put it back into the box!

Man, that sounds like all my recent visit to my hobby room! I feel your pain....

Wow... I need to catch up on these forum topics. Kenny is on a roll and I love it!! I've been so busy with work, working out, and family stuff as of late. I've got the next couple days off (going to see Jerry Seinfeld Thursday night ) and every Friday off this month plus I'm off from December 21st til January 2nd. I go back to work on the 3rd of January. Whattaya expect?! LMAO!!! I didn't take a summer vacation this year... Those 10 weeks off were Workman Comps

Yeah buddy, sometimes I lift weights at lunch, or I build models if it’s a rest day. But I work from home 100%. Man, working on them in your car, that’s next-level hardcore! I like the cut of your jib, my man, always have. I mean it’s like you know, we gotta get it when we can get some, you know?Life is busy and we have responsibilities. For me, I try to take time out for it, just to decompress. And when I’m on long confrerences, boy does it help!

Anyway thanks again guys, much appreciated. I can’t waot to paint this thing!

And BOOYAH, Black Sheep! Gotta stay in shape! I’ll be back at the gym on Friday for Deadlift Day. I think that’ll be enough recovery after this flu.

LOL! My workout is either on the cardiostrider bike and the elliptical machine. Haven't done weights yet. The missus usually hits the treadmill while I'm on those machines.
