YUP. You see that bird there on top in the photo on bottom? The kit part is pretty much barren. I’m gonna have tonre-create that somehow and I haven’t gotten my head around how yet.
Will you show me what you mean? I’m not sure. Thanks!

There’s hardly anything there in terms of raised detail to simulate the real thing. Nothing for me to dry brush really. And I don’t want to just paint a black square there... Eduard have nice PE IP’s with this kit. Why the Hell couldnt they supply PE boards there too?

IM trying o figure out how to re-create all the small switches that belong there.

:hmm: Interesting that they would leave that out.

My thought is go trompe l’oeil and mask the black areas, and add small blobs of glue to create switches. I am not sure what glue to use, maybe a thick CA, applied with a pin, then add color to the glue once it cures.

Or—take very thin styrene card and make the sections... yes, then go online to grab reference and add the details.

I’m thinking of going the “mask it off and make switches” route. But I wasn’t sure how to do the switches. CA dots, ‘eh? That sounds like a solid idea to me.

And look, it’s a good kit. It really is. My only complaint aside from the asthetics of the cockpit -which cane be helped, I mean that’s pretty much how they were made- is that Eduard seemed to forget about the detail there. It’s ridiculous

It is a great kit! And you are building the dickens out of it. I think I would experiment with paint and adhesive just to make sure. Let me see if I can try using white glue, even. I have no clue where I stashed the CA.

I’ll run some experiments while I work on the engine. I need to wash that resin and get cracking on it.

Also- the wings and stabs you can build separate and kind of plug into the fuselage. It’s pretty cool. I’ll probably do those relatively soon as well.

I’ll be going slow with the engine, like I’m doing with my 1:32 Zero. I want to detail the hell out of it. I’ll document it all here as usual.

Test first I would make the dials from glue and the switches on top if you want them by drilling holes and inserting wire.
