Thanks Bruce! I still need to fix the two boo boos I made with the paint, but here is a more top view for you.



In my quest to make things easier I picked up some evergreen styrene rods in two different sizes (looks like the smaller diameter will be better) to be used as the wing radiator struts. Also picked up Tamiya extra thin cement to help with that install. But that is going to be on the next Emil I do behind the scenes just fiddling with when I feel like it.

Now with this one the scheme is simple to do but was slightly time consuming with surprisingly the 78 and 79 colors. Plus the white paint was a slight pain to deal with that it is slightly time consuming.

Beautiful camo, and I definitely can tell that your engine removal and exhaust modifications have reduced the stress and signs of heavy fitting to a minimal level—I think this is spot on, frankly. Excellent.

Was too tired last night to fix the paint errors (even though I am doing this as an unconfirmed aircraft since there is no pictures of the particular number that I have found) and was wanting to find a way to improve the wing radiators on another Emil and give the 109F a bath. So nothing to show today.

The plan for the F is to do a F-2 Trop which I just so happen to have decals to make it work. The kit looks like a gem. Can’t start it til my brain is satisfied with the Emil and have all the notes written down of how to fix the slight issues in the Emil kit with out having to rely on aftermarket parts. Plan is to bundle all these tips together so anyone trying to build a closed up 109 can benefit from some minor pain and suffering and also make some slight improvements.

I have to admit you have completely turned around my thinking about Eduard kits with the engine cowling modifications. I used to think that the separately molded parts with an engine inside of an Eduard kit required the patience of members like yourself, Mostrich, Mustang, Floki and others to navigate—and it was too complex for me. I like surface effects that are complex and assemblies as simple as possible, but I have to admit you converted me to seeing the possibilities of the kit without the parts complexity. Thanks mucho mucho.

The Friedrich kit looks easier than the Emil! But stay tuned for when i start that one and I will give you the verdict.

As far as figuring things out that is thanks to the job Mustang and I do where we have to look for how we can get things done quicker. I do like the challenge though, PE is my nemesis though.

Fixed the issue with the paint but will need to add a splotch and blend it a little when I do weathering by the rear canopy. Now she is all glossed up now and will await decals.
