In my opinion, there's two major things to get right with a General Lee build: 1.) The car body-It's gotta look the part and it's gotta be near perfect in regards to the look and finish...……….and 2.) The wheels. If the wheels are a flub job then the whole thing looks off balance. I've got one of the rear wheels pretty much completed and I feel pretty fair about the outcome. The rear wheels will come from the Eckler Corvette and are a little wider/ deeper for a more aggressive looking Lee. I stuck the tire on a 14mm deep socket (next time I'll use a shallow socket for more control and less wobble) and spun it up on a drill with the tire on some sandpaper to achieve the worn tire tread look.

I've been out of the loop for the past couple of weeks to changes at work …………….yet again!! All the changes that have affected our shop over the course of the last few months have now affected.....well....my position. Pretty much took all of the tasks that I was performing as a shop supervisor away except for a few menial tasks. So I went to work on designing a whole new set of duties and responsibilities as well as a modified position for myself and so far it's working but it's taking a lot out of me physically. Also I've been on a weight loss program for the last 4 months after seeing myself at a whopping 233 pounds on the scale. The last quarter year has seen me in the gym more often than at the bench in efforts to change things. So far it's not going bad either. I went from wearing 40 inch waist pants that I was having to unbutton at the top button just to sit and drive home to wearing 36 inch waist pants and have dropped 32 pounds down to 201 so far. I still have another 8 pounds to go till I hit my goal of 40 pounds total of weight loss and then it's off to toning what's left up a bit and put everything back in the right place. My long term goal is to run in and compete in the Beach to Bay run here in Corpus at 51 years of age.
