My bench today (it begins). Page one of the instructions!
Starter kit requires a pin vise?
Apparently it does.
I cut off a small section of sprue to act as a glue delivery system.
I made it to page two of the instructions!
Painted using washes of gray, followed by a thin “pin wash” (pixie dust) of Humbrol 33 Matt Black

Yes, I remember reading about the oldest living man in Japan who also happened to be a member of the government team from Japan who signed the WWII treaty with the US. He said much the same thing as you. He added that the men carried black top hats too small to wear due to shortage of goods, so each man carried their hat in their arms.

Jeez.....sounds like my world these days in modeling. lol .
Good progress on this bad boy so far Bruce!!!

Mustang,
I have imbibed so much caffeine between preparing Carlotta’s apartment, working and now building a model kit again that I can barely keep my thoughts straight which is the opposite of whatever the supposed benefits are.

Looks good Bruce. You’re turning this into a mighty fine build using minimalist tools, materials, and techniques.
I love the sunset shot too. Between myself and my family, we were in LA or the LA area for over a hundred years. It’s a part of me, like several other places are as well.

I feel the same about L.A. although for me it’s a decade and change. This area is totally post war and I felt like a time traveler. Showed Marius a photo and he said it gave him 1942 UFO vibes and I understand that. I’m worried about the future and my future but when the girl I love writes to ask me what I’m doing I tell her I’m watching the sunset which is something that can really really be felt here. The Magic Hour. The 45 minute slide into night over the ocean. It’s a king sized part of the reason why I love Los Angeles. I’m not sure I’ll need that dose of technicolor wizardry forever but right now I’ll hold onto those minutes every chance I get.
