I missed completely on mine.

I bought more models than I built this year,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,again.

I didn't get any of the "right" kinds of models built,,,,,,,,,,,,,and getting an average of one a month done in 2016, that are actually "on topic" has become my goal for next year.

And for the 50th straight year I haven't built any "award winning" models,,,,,,,,,something that I still would like to accomplish just once, somewhere, anywhere. (on the Gold-Silver-Bronze system, I consistently build at the "Copper-Pewter-Lead level", lol) I do get them built "good enough for Rex", though,,,,,,,,,,but, it would be nice to build a few that others liked as well, hah.

I will have "one of each model purchased and ready" for my collection theme, when I get to the Chattanooga show and my Hannants order gets here in early January,,,,,,,,,,so, I at least accomplished that, finally. In theory that means that I don't have to purchase any more models after January,,,,,,,,,,,but, some new releases could come along and tempt me, and I am not even going to try and make a resolution that I won't buy someone's new tooled SNJ if something like that, comes along, for example.

I did have fun with the hobby in 2015, and will again in 2016,,,,,,,,,,so that is something, I guess.

For 2016, I will....

Buy more models than I build.

Not build my 1/32 A-7.

Actually, I don't care if I buy more than I build...that's half the fun!

Im still gonna try to build more than I buy, but I am also pushing myself to buy quality over quantity. Those outdated testors and airfix kits have got to go!

I've also decided to build 1/72 near exclusively, and that means downsizing the stash. I have been slowly selling/giving away some kits that I probably wont ever build.

Also decreed, is that 2016 will be the "Year of the Ace." Focus will be on building those special boxings Ive hoarded. Modern jets and airbrushing here I come!!

Many Poo-poo this scale,,,,,,,,but, I like the idea of getting something like a Piper Cub to look well in such a "tiny scale". After all, almost anyone can get one of them thar big ole honkin' 1/35 Cubs to looking right,,,,,,,,,,,those parts are HUGE.

Rex, I also build my aircraft exclusively in 1/72 scale. All my armor is built in 1/72 scale exclusively as well. It is definitely my favorite scale.

Y'all ain't into small until you unbox a 1/144 Japanese Tony....My son and family bought me 3 kits. All in144... Son of a Nutcracker, those are tiny.. I've blown boogers out of my nose bigger than those things.

Then I have a whole tank-sized ton of freakin' cute sitting on my shelves with 675 of them finished! Two more are almost done too!

Lyle, many decades ago, I built a 1/144 scale Hurricane and it was a cutie. Still, it was too small for me so I stayed with 1/72 scale. Recently I even found another 1/144 scale Hurricane exactly the same as the model I built as a kid and will probably build it as a remembrance of the first one which disappeared some years ago. I'm even debating getting a figure; adding something that looks like a remote control in his hands and posing him next to it on a grassy field! We'll see!
