Thumbs up for your packaging! I'm a bit concerned about the minor space between the wingtips and the box walls. But that's maybe just the distortion from the lens.

Your holiday pictures are fantastic. The landscape's beautiful and also the people are. I think you have an eye for portrait photography.
What kind of tribe do the people belong to? They look pretty "Nordic", like the Samen from Scandinavia and Siberia.

What an exciting project to follow!

Would be great if the received would also share you with some pictures, how the box looked like when it arrived to the destination... Our expectations are, that the internal looks precisely same as when you packed the Dora !

I'll ask my friend to include photos of the box when he receives Black 1. In case you are interested, I've posted photos of the original box when it was returned to me. The outer box was a bit bashed up but the inner box was clean with no deformations. Based on the two box configuration, I'm not worried about the boxes being damaged but rather how rough the boxes are handled in transit, which I have no control over. It's like sending that egg over the edge of building... you pack it as well as you can and ultimately just hope and pray for the best.

Thanks Carlos! Not a total crapshoot since I am now 2 out of 3 when it comes to shipping models overseas. The G-10 Erla made it over safely, thank goodness.

Bravo! I like the framework, foam padding and locking it all in place. Hopefully the receiver can post pics of the box upon arrival.

Torben... didn't see your question until just now. Thank you for the comments on my Central Asia photos. The pictures show a spectrum of the people that we interact with while we are in Central Asia. A large part of our work is with foreign medical students studying in Bishkek, Kygryzstan. The majority of these students are from India and many of the photos are of these Indian medical students. The other photos are a mixture of the local people from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, which can be traced to either nomadic Mongolian or Russian roots.

Just to wrap up the saga of Black 1, I want to report her final disposition. She arrived safely at her European destination. I shipped her on Friday and she arrived Wednesday, which is pretty darn fast for a Transatlantic shipment from the West Coast and I think that probably played a part in her safe arrival.

Here is the condition of the inner box as the outer box was opened. You can see how the inner box was isolated with packing material.
